UPS Talent Hunt Competition
The UPS Talent Hunt Competition, organized at the beginning of each academic session, provides students with a platform to showcase their hidden talents and creative abilities in events of their choice. With dedicated guidance, participants enhance their skills and perform at an advanced level. The event concludes with winners being honored with attractive prizes by the school’s Chairman and Principal, celebrating their hard work and remarkable achievements.
UPS Co-Curricular Activities
UPS offers a variety of co-curricular activities, including painting, dance, singing, Kavishri, GK quizzes, Mehndi design, Rangoli, and Gatka, for junior and senior houses. These events provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and foster healthy competition.

UPS Debate Competition

UPS Super Brainy
The Super Brainy competition is one of the toughest challenges at UPS, showcasing the sharpest minds in a neck-to-neck contest. With minimal differences in performance among extraordinary students, judges face the tough task of selecting the best.
Free and fair judgment ensures that the most deserving student emerges victorious in this battlefield of knowledge. The winner, selected by a panel of experts, is awarded the prestigious title and badge of Super Brainy by the Principal, a recognition they proudly carry throughout the year.
UPS Spoken English Competition
In the rural setting of UPS, the management is dedicated to eliminating hesitation in spoken English. This competition evaluates students’ word power, vocabulary, and pronunciation with great attention to detail. UPS Teachers’ Day
Celebrated annually on September 5th, Teachers’ Day at UPS honors educators as nation-builders and the foundation of all professions. Students organize various activities for teachers, including lighthearted and humorous events that bring joy and laughter to everyone.
These activities not only provide entertainment but also give teachers a chance to relax and connect with students by experiencing their challenges firsthand. The day concludes with the school chairman and principal honoring the winning teachers, making it a memorable occasion for all.
UPS Octo-Fest
Octo-Fest is a dynamic platform for students to transform theoretical knowledge into practical application. Over 800 students actively participate, setting up stalls to showcase projects and materials related to their favorite topics.
Subject experts are invited to evaluate the students’ performances, while parents are warmly welcomed to witness their children’s creativity and skills firsthand. The event concludes with the best performers being awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals by the school Chairman, Principal, and Jury Members, celebrating their exceptional efforts and achievements.
UPS Children & Sports Day
UPS Children & Sports Day is a joyful celebration of talent and teamwork. The event begins with tiny tots presenting roses to teachers, followed by students from all levels participating in games organized by the DPEs and class in-charges. Special guests, including state and national-level sports personalities, join to witness the excitement.
The day features a victory flame, a marching ceremony, and a lively performance by the UPS band. Cultural performances add charm, while all houses compete for the prestigious Overall Trophy. Winners are honored with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals by the Chief Guest, Chairman, and Principal, making it a memorable event for all.
UPS Humble Show & Annual Prize Distribution Function
The UPS Humble Show & Annual Prize Distribution Function is a cherished event held before the winter break, drawing thousands of parents from Talwandi Sabo. Preparation begins early, with a special activity period and regular rehearsals guided by teachers and overseen by the Chairman, Principal, and Vice-Principal.
Featuring vibrant performances by around 1,000 students and entirely student-managed, the event is graced by a prominent Chief Guest and a successful UPS alumnus. The day concludes with the presentation of prizes to all participants, celebrating their talent and dedication.
UPS Lohri Celebrations
The final event of the year at UPS, Lohri, is celebrated with warmth and joy by teachers and students. The festivities begin with the Chairman, accompanied by staff, lighting the bonfire, into which puffed rice and popcorn are offered.
Recreational and cultural performances by students and teachers add vibrancy to the celebration. The importance of the girl child is highlighted in a special speech, while groundnuts and sweets are distributed among students. Traditional Lohri songs are sung, creating a festive and cheerful atmosphere enjoyed by all.
UPS Bhangra
Bhangra, the iconic folk dance of Punjab, is celebrated worldwide, and UPS takes immense pride in its exceptional performers. For over two decades, UPS Bhangra teams have been bringing glory to the institution with their electrifying performances. Dressed in vibrant costumes, turbans, and holding colorful sticks and traditional instruments, the dancers captivate the audience from the moment they step on stage. With boundless energy, agility, and rhythmic precision, both junior and senior UPS Bhangra teams create an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm. Their performances have become a highlight, earning admiration and making UPS Bhangra the talk of the town year after year.
UPS Giddha
Giddha, the vibrant folk dance of Punjabi women, is a hallmark of marriage celebrations in Punjab. This energetic and thrilling dance is performed with rhythmic hand clapping, foot tapping, and lively beats of the drum, creating an atmosphere of joy and grace.
UPS girls showcase their elegance and enthusiasm as they perform Giddha, singing comical lyrics that reflect Punjabi culture and traditions. Their portrayal of marriage scenes is both entertaining and culturally rich. The UPS Giddha team is widely admired wherever they perform, earning recognition for their spirited and captivating displays.
Gatka – The Sikh Martial Art
Gatka, the revered martial art of the Sikh community, is a true representation of the Khalsa, established by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Its dynamic and powerful display leaves spectators in awe, showcasing the strength and valor of Sikh warriors. UPS Gatka performers demonstrate mastery over various traditional weapons, captivating the audience with their skillful techniques and unwavering spirit. Their striking presence serves as a tribute to Sikh history and the sacrifices of martyrs. UPS Band – A Symbol of Discipline and Harmony
The UPS Band is a proud representation of the institution’s discipline and excellence. Comprising both boys and girls, the band members are trained with military-like precision, showcasing a world-class marching parade. Equipped with drums, flutes, side drums, and other band instruments, they perform in perfect coordination, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. Dressed in immaculate uniforms, their synchronized movements and rhythmic beats captivate the audience. UPS GK Competition – Sharpening Young Minds

Students receive study material in advance, ensuring thorough preparation. The competition is intense, with house-in-charges, captains, and mistresses working diligently to secure victory.
